Luckily, from what I could see, texting isn't really "in" yet. People are very much into just talking on their phones -- Loud. Smart phones are beyond the financial reach of most still. They are much more expensive to buy there than for us. Thus the cautions you read and hear about all over SE Asia of not waving around your phone in public and making yourself a target of potential theft.
One can only hope that no driver was texting during the rush hour pictured above!
