Places 4

On the train from Osaka airport to Kyoto, you can still see
many damaged homes en route.

I didn't connect with Osaka like I thought I would.
It felt like a Japanese Disneyland and after a night out for many
particularly along Dotonbori, streets were quite littered, rare for Japan.

I had read that Osaka is like a mini Tokyo, all the good stuff
but with more spirit and less cost.
But for me, Tokyo still wins.

Kyoto, on the other hand, wasn't as quaint as I had imagined.
It was far more touristy then expected.
However, if you go to the temples early in the morning,
like many well visited places in the world,
you can still find a far more peaceful experience.
