Another Book Recommendation

The geography of bliss : one grump's search for the happiest places in the world by Eric Weiner.

A lighter funnier take on the subject.

  1. Ohohoh! I LOVED that book too! I took it out of the library a couple of years ago. Very funny guy! Have you read "The Happiness Project" yet?

  2. @ Northern Living Allowance;

    No I haven't, just exerpts but I just put a hold on a copy from our library!

    I really enjoyed the book too from a travel perspective and he managed to really nail the feel and tone of the people and places.

    I'm curious about the other stuff he has written too.

  3. I think you'll love "The Happiness Project." I actually requested a copy for our library several years ago and then kept putting off reading it! When I finally did, I was stunned that I hadn't made the time for it earlier. Fantastic! And it's so heartening to know that you're not the only one out there feeling "like this." The author adds plenty of blog comments, and divides the chapters into little chapters of their own. Loved it.

    I didn't realize Eric Weiner had written anything else. I'll check that out, too.

  4. Now I can't wait until it comes in! I found out Eric has written "Man Seeks God: my flirtations with the divine". I can just imagine his take on the whole thing...

  5. Oh! That does sound interesting. I'll make a note of it and make a request at the library myself!
